ABOUT CELLWAND COMMUNICATIONS INC.
It started with one simple idea.
CellWand was founded in Toronto in 2000 to make finding a taxi easier.
Behind #TAXI is years of work building and maintaining information about taxi companies and the areas they serve — all so one short, memorable number can connect people with a local provider.
The technology has changed over time. The idea hasn’t.
Dial #TAXI. Get connected.
04
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Helping people make the right call. Literally.
Safe rides have always been part of the #TAXI story.
For years, CellWand supported MADD Canada and Project Red Ribbon, helping promote an easy-to-remember option for people who needed a ride home.
#TAXI was also promoted through bars, restaurants and responsible-drinking programs — places where knowing exactly who to call could matter.
Because sometimes the most useful technology is the kind you can remember when you need it.
